Atlantic City Electric (ACE) has some of the highest rates for electricity in the State on NJ. It is no wonder that homeowners in South Jersey are the most eager to go solar. Unfortunately for many that is not an option at this time. The map below shows the current restricted circuit map. The black areas cannot go solar right now. The red areas have limited availability.

Right from the ACE website: “In some regions, ACE might not have an open circuit at your location – or the circuit might be restricted or constrained, making additional interconnections unavailable or limited.” You can search the map yourself at the link below.

PSEG and JCP&L do not yet have the same issues as ACE. But how long will that last? Don’t be beholden to what are essentially the last monopolies in the country. Whether you go with me or someone else, you owe it to yourself to explore the options. I lead with my best deal and if you find something better, I suggest you take it. Right now there are incentives that can help you save a significant amount of money and to lock in rates much lower than you are currently paying (if your home qualifies). As politics change, so could those incentives. Don’t look back a few years from now and regret not exploring your options.
